How do I get started?
Stop that full ashtray habit - now!

Think carefully and ask yourself ‘Do I really want to stop smoking?’ If the answer is a definite ‘Yes’, ring our number and speak to me, Lynda Hudson, with any questions and concerns, and to make an appointment. I will ask you to keep a smoking log on both a working and a non-working day. Make a note, each time you light up, of why you are doing it, what your mood is and what you get out of it. This is in order to establish your personal triggers. The more personal the treatment, the more effective it will be


What happens in the session?

Typically, an appointment lasts about one and a half hours. The first part is spent talking about the reasons why you smoke, about why you want to stop smoking, and the potential benefits to you. The second part of the treatment involves a comfortable state of hypnotic relaxation and personalised suggestions to stop


How many sessions will I need?

Most people stop completely after one but some like to have a second session as a boost. You take home a personalised hypnotic CD as reinforcement

Let’s clear up a few myths

• You don’t go to sleep

• You are not unconscious

• You do hear what is said

Most people experience hypnosis as a little similar to a daydreaming state, where they feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease


How does it work?

The skill of the therapist helps you support your conscious will power by making use of your unconscious drivers. You will be given suggestions to reduce and eliminate cravings, to resist personal triggers, to remain strong and confident even when others around you are smoking, and to avoid tricking yourself into restarting


Can you promise that I will stop?

Hypnotherapy is a partnership and I will put 100% effort into working with you. If you also put in 100% effort and if you really want to stop, then you will succeed


Is it like stage hypnosis?

Definitely not, and - contrary to what you may have been led to believe - hypnosis cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. You always remain in control
