OVERVIEW
Selective Eating is quite a tricky problem to deal with as there is generally a tremendous amount of anxiety in both the children and the parents. Mealtimes are often occasions of great emotional stress for all and at least part of the treatment will normally involve persuading parents (very tactfully) to support your work by changing their own approach.

The problem is very rarely resolved in a single session so we will look at some different interventions to be used over a few sessions. As with the treatment of Nocturnal Enuresis, if you can become skilled in treating this problem you will not only relieve a great deal of stress, you will create a niche market for your services.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • POSSIBLE CAUSES OF SELECTIVE EATING
  • LIKELY CHARACTERISTICS OF CHILDREN WITH THIS DISORDER
  • THE IMPORTANCE OF PRE-SESSION EXPLANATION TO PARENTS
  • HOW THIS ISSUE CAN AFFECT FAMILY LIFE
  • QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK
  • APPROPRIATE AIMS FOR HYPNOTHERAPY TREATMENT
  • ADVICE TO PARENTS ON HOW TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILD
  • ADVICE TO PARENTS ON HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR THERAPY
  • APPROPRIATE INDUCTIONS AND INTERVENTIONS

Student Notes
There will be student notes to support the session and including scripts and strategies for use in your therapy

Attendance Certificate
Let us know once you have viewed the recording and we will send you a certificate of attendance for CPD purposes.

The workshop assumes knowledge and skill using a variety of hypnotic approaches with adults and preferably a little experience in working with children.
